  • This is a busy and varied in-house role in which a qualified solicitor will play an important part in supporting the work of the University Secretary who has overall responsibility for the University’s compliance with legal matters including (but not limited to) land and property matters, student matters, Data Protection/GDPR and Freedom of Information, and employment matters.
  • You will be required to play a lead role in provision of day to day advice on a wide range of legal and compliance matters including employment, estate management and student matters. You will also oversee engagement with the panel of regional and national UK legal firms that the University instructs from time to time to provide specific advice.
  • You will be able to demonstrate successful engagement with clients as a practising solicitor in private practice or in a public or private sector organisation.
  • Attention to detail, recent experience of working in a busy environment, working flexibly as part of the University Secretary's wider team together with excellent IT and communication skills are important aspects of this role.
