• Warrington Borough Council is the local authority of Warrington. It is a unitary authority, having the powers of a non-metropolitan county and district council combined. It provides a full range of local government services including Council Tax billing, libraries, social services, processing planning applications, waste collection and disposal, and it is a local education authority.
  • This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and able lawyer to join the in-house legal team at Warrington Borough Council.
  • You will provide advice, guidance and support to Councillors and officers including providing advice and assistance on committee reports and procedure. This will regularly include high profile, contentious and complex decision-making on land and property matters.
  • You will need excellent communication skills, team skills and the ability to interpret legislation in a common sense and practical manner, having due regard to the Council’s legal responsibilities.
  • You will have substantial experience of undertaking a full caseload of land and property matters of high value and high complexity including sales, purchases, leases and licenses which is unlikely to have been obtained in less than five years of previous qualified experience
