  • The Role: Royal Mail Group is looking for an in-house Senior Legal Advisor to provide strategic, pragmatic and commercial specialist legal advice to RMG on all aspects of competition law, postal regulation and related matters of public law and government affairs.
  • Looking for: Among your myriad talents, we are looking to secure your expertise as a senior specialist competition lawyer (min 5 years PQE) with the requisite skills and experience to effectively assume the responsibilities of the role as profiled above and to meet RMG's key objectives; your experience of dealing with EU/UK regulators on competition law and regulatory issues; your effective and proactive lawyer with excellent communication skills; and your commercial, pragmatic and practical approach to advising on legal issues.
  • Opportunities: The opportunities afforded to you will include, but not be limited to, ensuring that each of the business units within RMG has a clear understanding of both our regulatory obligations and competition law and how these impact on their commercial activities and strategies; and managing RMG’s defence of investigations brought by regulators (under competition law and regulation). This includes managing internal efficiently and effectively to ensure the best possible outcome for RMG; and reporting on these cases to senior executives.
  • And more: You will be Working with external advisers to ensure that the business receives technically strong advice, which also shows a clear understanding of the commercial objectives of the business; and working closely with other functions of the business, such as Group Regulation, Group Compliance and Public Affairs on all relevant issues.
