  • About The role: We have an outstanding opportunity for an in-house Legal Adviser with expertise in extractives sector governance in the Oceans and Natural Resources (ONR) section of our Trade, Oceans and Natural Resources Directorate.
  • Looking for: Among your skills, we are looking to secure your expertise and experience in the extractives sectors; demonstrated skills in legislative drafting, policy, regulation, and/or negotiations relating to extractives or international maritime law; prior experience in an international context, gained in a government ministry, the private sector or an international organization.
  • Opportunities: The opportunities afforded to you will include but not be limited to taking direct responsibility for the management of a portfolio of natural resource projects with particular emphasis on mining (including sea-bed minerals) and petroleum; and providing legal and policy advice in other areas relevant to the work of ONR including renewable energy, energy transition, and other maritime activities.
  • And more: To be considered, you must have a first degree and/or relevant post-graduate degree in Law, with a specialisation in aspects of natural resources, maritime or public international law.
