  • About the Role: The Financial Times is recruiting an in-house legal counsel to join us in January 2020.
  • Looking for: Among your myriad skills we are looking to secure your genuine interest in working for a leading business news and information organisation; your experience of drafting and negotiating a range of commercial contracts; your good knowledge of legal issues relating to advertising, prize draws and promotions; and your ability to handle the demands of a fast-paced in-house role.
  • Opportunities: The opportunities afforded to you will include but not be limited to assisting the senior lawyers in the London team on drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts, such as technology, print and distribution, digital, HR and facilities.
  • And more: The lawyer will also be responsible for advising certain areas of the business, which will involve working closely with the advertising department (including reviewing ads for clearance and negotiating related contracts), the marketing department (including reviewing marketing materials and subscription journeys, and drafting T&Cs for prize draws), and the team who run our Board Director Programme.
