  • The Bank of England is the UK's central bank. Our mission is to deliver monetary and financial stability for the British people.
  • The Legal Directorate usually provides legal advice in-house, but engages external counsel as necessary.
  • Your responsibilities will include working with only limited support from senior lawyers, developing and applying technical knowledge and judgment to advise PRA supervisors and policy-makers (initially relating to insurers and banks) on complex legal issues, ensuring that agreed outcomes and timescales are met and that legal risk is adequately identified, managed and mitigated.
  • You will have excellent legal risk awareness, evaluation and management skills including an ability to create solutions and deliver pragmatic outcome-focussed judgements that take account of the business environment.
  • You will have a willingness and the ability to develop expertise in new technical areas, and to do so quickly, seamlessly, and to a consistent high standard.
