Legal Advisor - Editorial & IP (Part-time considered)

  • The press mission is "to further the University's mission by disseminating knowledge in the pursuit of education, learning and research at the highest international levels of excellence". Cambridge University Press is a department of the University of Cambridge and is both an academic and educational publisher.
  • We are looking for a lawyer with experience in IP and/or media law to join the Editorial and IP team within Legal & Business Affairs. We are happy to consider both part-time and full-time applications for this role.
  • You will provide timely and effective legal support to the editorial and content management teams in our three global product groups (Academic, Education and ELT), ensuring that our dealings with all authors, editors, contributors and content owners are fair, support the CUP brand and mission, and comply with relevant laws.
  • You will have significant experience in advising on IP, copyright and/or content acquisition contracts, ideally in a media business.
  • You will be a strong communicator with a collaborative and supportive approach, providing expert guidance at a time and in a way which enables business colleagues to achieve their objectives.
