  • The Financial Conduct Authority is a financial regulatory body in the United Kingdom, but operates independently of the UK Government, and is financed by charging fees to members of the financial services industry.
  • About the role: The Criminal Prosecutions team consists of lawyers with contentious experience who provide criminal law and strategic advice in respect of case team criminal investigations and conduct litigation in the Crown Courts.
  • Looking For: We are looking to secure your expertise and ability to analyse complex evidence in order to form a view as to what action is warranted, what further evidence may be required/available and how it might be obtained; together with your experience in complex financial crime cases and sound knowledge of criminal law.
  • Opportunities: Amongst others, you will have the opportunity to advise from the outset of criminal investigations in relation to issues such as searches, arrests, requests for mutual legal assistance and disclosure; and to advise in respect of evidential sufficiency and public interest before the FCA initiates prosecutions.
  • And more: externally. You will have strong communication skills in order to present the outcome of analysis clearly and effectively, orally and in writing; be a robust, self-motivated and a good team player with an ability to work well under pressure and to deadlines.
