Independent Domestic & Sexual Violence Advocate

Independent Domestic & Sexual Violence Advocate

  • Victim Support (VS) is an independent charity for people affected by crime in England and Wales. We work towards a world where people affected by crime or traumatic events get the support they need and respect they deserve.
  • In this in-house role, the successful candidate will manage a caseload of high risk clients; working within a multi-agency framework of MARAC partners and other agencies to manage and minimise risk, support clients through the criminal justice system where applicable and to provide follow up support until the risks have been reduced sufficiently for the case to be referred or signposted for longer term ongoing support.
  • The successful candidate must have experience of working directly with victims of domestic abuse and or sexual violence, experience of advocacy and support work.
  • You will have excellent listening and communication skills. You will be able to work under pressure; capable of managing, prioritising and organising a demanding caseload. You will work effectively both independently and within a team setting.
  • You will be committed to providing a high-quality service for victims and promoting equality of opportunity, diversity and inclusion.
