Global Litigation – Senior Legal Counsel

  • About the role: You’ll be an in-house lead litigator, handling a wide range of disputes, including litigation and arbitration matters across the Europe Middle East and North Africa (EMENA) region. You’ll sit in Shell’s Global Litigation team, based in Shell Centre, London.
  • Looking For: We are looking to secure your expertise and experience handling a broad range of complex cases; advising on arbitration procedure and tactics, including potential arbitrator candidates; based on an external network; and prior experience of handling high-value oil & gas disputes, including drafting pleadings.
  • Opportunities: You will have the opportunity to excel at making decisions on often challenging and sensitive issues. You’ll use your excellent people skills to nurture trustworthy relationships across a range of stakeholders, and efficiently and effectively manage the negotiation and resolve conflict with partners. You will also be effective in influencing and advising internal colleagues and clients.
  • And more: You will be a seasoned lawyer with first-chair experience managing international disputes, including complex arbitration and litigation matters. We expect you to have a qualification as a solicitor or barrister in English law (or equivalent in a common law system) and senior level experience in private practice or in-house.
