  • The Role: In this in-house role you will have responsibility for providing competition and regulatory law advice in the UK and providing legal support in other jurisdictions where BT Group is active.
  • Looking For: Among your many talents, we are looking to secure your strong experience gained as a competition and/or regulatory lawyer in a legal or commercial environment (in particular in a law firm, as a barrister, in-house, or at a competition or regulatory authority or tribunal). We can take relevant work experience prior to legal qualification into account – we are interested in what you can do.
  • Opportunities: The opportunities afforded to you will include, but not be limited to, providing legal advice on BT’s competition and regulatory issues in the UK and supporting BT globally. BT’s in-house team covers Article 101 and 102 issues, M&A, significant market power (SMP) regulation; procurement and state aid. We work on regulatory investigations and market reviews, advise on legal issues around developing new products and services, and help support compliance activities.
  • And more: You will possess fluent English (oral and written). You’ll be drafting pleadings and regulatory filings, as well as giving practical risk-based advice and translating complex legal issues into useful guidance for our business; and strong team-working, people, communication and influencing skills, and being able to work effectively in virtual and multidisciplinary teams.
