  • About the role: The in-house Legal Counsel is responsible for partnering with the business and providing practical legal advice in relation to all types of legal and business matters affecting the organisation, as well as ensuring that all our operations are compliant with relevant legislation.
  • Looking For: We are looking to secure your expertise and desirable experience in an in-house environment, complemented by your experience advising global, high-growth tech-focused businesses. Your commercial mind and ability to develop relationships and influence key stakeholders, is also highly desirable. As is your practical and proactive approach to in-house compliance management and strategy and a bias for innovation, agility, collaboration and natural language communication. Your experience with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation is also desirable.
  • Opportunities: Among the opportunities afforded to you will include working as an integrated part of the global legal team to provide legal services on UK and global platform matters (including procurement, product support, customer support, and security); and working closely with Xero’s commercial team in your region to help drive strategic relationships and initiatives for Xero locally, but with a global mindset.
  • And more: You will review, negotiate and draft key legal documents, such as vendor supply agreements, strategic partnership agreements, marketing partner agreements, data exchange agreements, integration agreements, and procurement contracts; and also provide advice on key regulatory matters impacting the business, including financial services regulations.
