  • About the Firm: Royal Holloway, University of London, formally incorporated as Royal Holloway and Bedford New College, is a public research university and a constituent college of the federal University of London.
  • About the role: This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and motivated in-house data protection lawyer to join the Governance and Legal Services Directorate and make a significant contribution to the development of the College’s data protection agenda.
  • Looking For: Among your myriad skills, we are looking to secure your expertise and experience in data protection and information security law gained in a highly regarded private practise or in-house legal team; dovetailed with your demonstrable and advantageous experience of managing and delivering change management projects, particularly with regards to information compliance.
  • Opportunities: The opportunities afforded to you will include but not be limited to providing expert, timely and pragmatic legal advice, with a particular focus on data privacy and information security law, seeking supervision from the Director as appropriate; being a subject matter expert, providing advice, guidance and information to the College on its duties under the data protection legislation; and leading on the development and delivery of data protection training, raising awareness and understanding of data protection matters across the College community.
  • And more: You will conduct litigation on behalf of the College, with support from external legal suppliers as required; and draft and review correspondence on behalf of internal stakeholder clients on a range of legal and regulatory matters.
