Route1 Market Report Q4 2018

05 February 2019

At Route1, we deliver a platform solution for legal recruitment. This means we can measure and analyse both vacancies and employer requirements from over 200 in-house and private practice clients.

Our analytics show that in Q4, despite the fears over what type of Brexit (if any) we are going to see on 29th March, the market remains bullish. Certainly the demand for Real Estate, Commercial/IT, and Corporate lawyers remains as busy as ever.

What practice areas are in demand? What seniority of candidate is required?

There is a still a healthy demand across the country, with London remaining at the centre of this, but the percentage of roles in key regional cities has increased as many national firms continue to dilute their traditional London focus.

Where are the roles?

Below is an example heat map of cumulative UK regional demand for lawyers by speciality for September – December (inclusive) 2018 exported from our bespoke analytics platform.
